FREQUENCY.CITY'S GEAR

What I use, why I use it, and a link to buy it.

My Gear: Headliner

2020 APPLE MACBOOK PRO M1 CHIP
(13 INCH, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD)

There's nothing more precious than dependability.

You're in for some really embarassing moments if your laptop crashes, and that's why I left Windows laptops behind. This thing never lags or overheats. It's also the last Macbook to support the touch strip above the keyboard; the music controls being particulary useful when browsing through songs.

RANE ONE

Integrated Mixer, Motorized Platters, and Serato DJ Pro Included

The best controller I've ever put my hands on; amazing for beginners and turntablists alike. Showing up to a gig with this is professional, portable, reliable, functional, and down right sexy. The in/outputs have everything you need. You can also customize your vinyls and take your branding to the next level. My favorite piece of gear.

PEAVY PV 6 BT MIXER

6 Channel Stereo Mixer with Bluetooth & USB Connection

I never do a gig without this. The reason you want a stand-alone mixer/audio interface is for extra volume control and extra in/outputs. Your speakers aren't as loud as they can be without one of these. This is also my mixer of choice because of its USB connection. Perfect for integrating your hardware with your PC for streaming or even recording your mixes.

SHURE BLX14/P31

Wireless Microphone System, Bodypack, & PGA31 Headset Mic

One thing holding back my mic presence during my sets was quite literally having to reach for my microphone. Finding where I put it last, turning it on/off, and setting it back down where it isn't going to fall all wastes precious seconds; seconds I desperately need while quick mixing. Stop worrying about the process that it takes to talk to your crowd and just... talk. Great connection and professional sound without the feedback.
